Are You the Master of Your Own Destiny?

I personally look at success and happiness as the same thing. For everyone success means something a little different. So happiness to me means a feeling from within that you are making a positive difference in the lives of those around you.

Now that feeling can come from someone who makes $40,000 a year teaching our kids in school or someone who makes $5.8 million dollars a year running a huge corporation. The difference here is the value provided and the number of people served.

The problem I see with our world is that there is too much reliance on outside circumstances to make us happy.

Whether it be by wealth redistribution by the government, welfare programs that do not require any upward movement by the recipients or by taxing higher income earners to support those who are less fortunate.

Less fortunate would be to say that success and happiness is all by luck.

But success and happiness are not by luck but by a predetermined decision to be so.

Make a decision to be successful and happy, start to take action towards it with a plan and then keep going and never stop.

As we move towards our decided goals they move towards us, when we stop moving towards them they stop moving towards us.

Earl Nightingale describe success as, “The progressive realization of a worthy goal or objective.” Let’s break this down.

Progressive – moving forward, making progress

realization – realizing, making real

worthy – positive, helpful, not destructive

goal or objective – something predetermined, something that requires you to stretch

Success and happiness can come at whatever level that you decide as long as it is your decision and that you do not look outside of yourself for your happiness.

I heard a saying that Vic Johnson quoted and that saying goes, “Whatever can be given to you, can be taken away.” and that includes happiness. But whatever you create by your own creative mind will always be yours and that includes happiness and success.

As I have said before this all comes by your habitual way of thinking and acting and habits can be made to work for you and not against you with careful study. A great resource on changing and empowering habits is located at http://www.habitbustingsystem.com , make sure to check it out.
