Getting a good start to any goal and maintaining the momentum is extremely important. But when is the RIGHT time to get going?
Is the right time to get going, when you have everything figured out?
I guess if we had it all figured out, we wouldn’t have to get going, would we?
Is the right time to get going, when we have the PERFECT plan?
The question that I would have to ask here, is there really a perfect plan? The simple answer is… NO!
So when is the right time to get going?
There is no better time to start working on the things, you know you need to work on. If you are putting them off, you simply haven’t given yourself good enough reason to start moving forward on them.
The problem with that is when you put things off, you are giving up a very valuable and irreplaceable resource and that is… TIME.
As my mentor, Jim Rohn, said, “Time is more valuable than money, you can always get more money, but you can’t get more time.”
There are two absolutely certain things to keep in mind with regards to time.
1. You were born.
2. You will die and the only person who knows when that time will be is God.
So what we do with that time is up to us.
When we come to the realization that we are responsible for the results and the happiness in our lives, we need to start acting on the plans we have set for ourselves.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when you want to start making lasting change in your life:
1. We need God’s help. He is the only person that is completely qualified to help us make lasting change. He has set up a perfect system that will help us accomplish mostly any goal that we have set for ourselves.
Here is one more thing to keep in mind in this area, if we are struggling to reach a particular goal, it may not be an ideal goal for us and God knows this and is gently trying to tell us to reset this goal to something that may suit us better. So listen very carefully.
2. In order to make any lasting change in our lives, we will have to change our thoughts and our actions. If we want a different result but we are not willing to change our thinking or our actions, we are insane. It is that simple.
If you want to be in better health but you don’t want to go to the gym and stop eating foods that are not conducive to good health, you will be wasting a lot of time and energy. And again time is the valuable commodity that should not be wasted.
It is important to keep in mind that we are where we are because of the thinking and the actions that we have been taking up to this point. In order to make lasting change, we need to change our thoughts and actions.
