Our pastor has been pounding it pretty unmercifully recently in church… the need to remove sin from our lives and getting closer to God.
His point being that when we have sin in our lives, we are separated from God by allowing that sin to stay in our lives.
As this is a subject that he has preached on in the past for some reason he has really going at it for the last month pretty hard.
As always after the service, I review the notes that I take during the service in order to find some actions that I can implement in my life to bring me a little closer to God. After looking at the 8+ pages of notes that I took this Sunday, I was pretty much over whelmed.
Then my mind got around to addictions and how they affect just about everyone. It doesn’t matter how big or small they may be, we are all affected by some sort of addiction in our lives. We can actually become addicted to the messages that we get in church and the feelings that we get from receiving these messages.
I looked up the definition of addiction for this post and it is as follows:
“the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, such as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.”
Let’s take a look at some of the things that we could be addicted to:
- Drugs – Legal or illegal
- Hustle and bustle of life
- Personal Development information
- Religious messages
Don’t be fooled by how small you think your habit may be, anything that can hold you back could be detrimental to your life and the lives of those around you.
As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
God Bless You,
