Are You Paying Attention to the Patterns in Your Life?

Do you find yourself repeating certain problems in your life, over and over again?

Are there broken relationships in your wake from every area in your life?

Do you find yourself broke or in situations that often drain your bank account?

Do you find yourself constantly being let go from your job? Or the first one to be laid off when the cuts start to happen?

As we move through life, we can always find patterns that emerge in our lives. Things that happen over and over again and they just confound us. And we end up asking the question, “Why does this always happen to me?” or “Why am I always in this situation?”

There are always two ways to react to these situations:

#1 – We can continue to do the things the way we always have, blaming our circumstances or the person who dumped us, the company that let us go or just our bad luck for all these things happening to us. All the time holding out for something to change outside of us, that will make all these bad things go away.

OR

#2 – We can look at these things that happen over and over in our lives and realize that the way WE think and the actions that WE take are creating the circumstances that we find ourselves in.

These are habits that have been operating in our lives that we are aware of or in a lot of circumstances, that we are not aware of. Some of these things could be thoughts that we accepted into our heads when we were young children unable to discern whether they are thoughts that we want to operate in our lives.

Let’s take a look at come of the simple ones:

“Money doesn’t grow on ____________ ?”

“The rich get richer and the poor get __________ ?”

“It take money to make ______________ ?”

I don’t even have to complete those sentences and you already know the answers.

We have thoughts like these rolling over in our heads and they are creating the current results in our lives.

So if these thoughts and actions are creating our current results, then how do we change our future results?

We need to change our thoughts and our actions in the area where the undesirable patterns are in our lives.

I have been promoting a program called Lee Milteer’s Habit Busting System, it has been changing the lives of many people around the globe and if you are serious about making these changes, please make sure to check it out!

I write all of that to say this….

There are no human solutions to the problems we face day in and day out.

We must come to God through Jesus to truly make any real and lasting changes in our lives.

Without that it is all for nothing.

Sure we can enjoy the lives that we live on this earth and in these human bodies but it is the eternal life that we should be more concerned with.

This is my personal view and I respect your right to have your viewpoint on this subject. But here is why I go down this road:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Jesus was sent down to this earth to take away the sin of this world and He was the the only human to live on this earth to live a flawless life.

A perfect life….

And the whole purpose of His life was to be of service to us and to provide the “perfect” example that we are supposed to try and live up to. Something we could never do, but by the grace of God, Jesus took away that sin that would condemn us to hell. And when we accept Him into our lives, our focus should go from worrying a lot less about what we don’t have or get, to what we can do to serve those around us.

This is absolutely a personal choice.

When we start to focus on the needs of others and serving those around us, our needs and wants seem to be miraculously be taken care of.

It’s all about our focus. The more we focus on what we do not have or what we are not getting, it seems like these problems amplify. But when we take our focus off of that and turn it to serving others, a lot of those issues seem to disappear.

I would love to hear your comments on this, please leave them below.

    John,

I absolutely agree. I think many have forgotten to be thankful
for the blessings they already have – especially in this economy –
where money is the primary focus. If we shift our focus to being
grateful for what we’ve already been given, maybe we’ll realize
    how truly blessed we are.
