Success and Your Most Important Relationship

The road to success is a very challenging road, paved with many bumps, potholes and road debris thrown in for good measure.

But the most important relationship that you need to stay on top of is…

The relationship you have with yourself. Yesterday I posted an article about inside and outside influences in your life, if you didn’t get a chance to read go here now: http://www.lifetosuccess.com/?p=753

The fact is your relationship with yourself is the most important relationship that you need to stay on top of.

And you need to take care of this relationship like gold. You will not be able to have a quality relationship with anyone until you have a great relationship with yourself.

Here are some tips on how to make this relationship really sing:

1. Don’t beat yourself up – When you make a mistake, let it go as quickly as possible. You are only human, you are not perfect. Look at your mistakes and failures, look at them as learning opportunities.

2. Give yourself positive encouragement at every turn – When you look at yourself in the mirror, make sure your self talk is positive. Make sure you talk to yourself like you would talk to your best friend.

3. Take care of yourself physically – When you eat right and exercise your body, you send a message to yourself that you really care about yourself. Doesn’t that sound funny! It’s true though! When you eat the wrong foods, you are sending a conscious message to your subconscious mind that you do not care about yourself and then it becomes a self perpetuating situation.

This is not to say you need to become self absorbed. Your true success comes from serving others and the better relationship you have with yourself, the better the relationship will be with others.
